ANTONIO SAXON
Antonio Michael Saxon has a over 20 years of extensive experience background in real estate finance, real estate brokerage, land acquisition and disposition, entitlements, land development, asset management and repurposing, real estate law as well as investment management. After graduating Cum Laude from the University of Southern California, Santa Barbara, he began his career as a retail investment advisor and associate equity analyst at Solomon Smith Barney (“SSB”) in Downtown Los Angeles. While at SSB, he was consistently recognized as one of the top associate investment advisors and equity analysts. After SSB, Mr. Saxon worked as an investment advisor for both Prudential Securities retail and institutional groups, where he personally managed portfolios in excess of $20 million for private clients. After 5 years of working for two of Wall Street’s largest investment firms, Mr. Saxon returned to The Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (“USC”), where he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in real estate finance. After graduating from USC, he joined Ernst & Young’s (“E&Y”) Management Consulting Division, specializing in real estate and capital leasing. As an E&Y manager, he consulted on projects for the finance and leasing departments of several large Silicon Valley companies, including Cisco Systems Capital and Sun Microsystems and real estate finance corporations, including Heller Financial. Mr. Saxon left E&Y to further his career in real estate development and brokerage and was a development broker and advisor at O’Donnell Atkins Company (“OA”) where he facilitated large residential home building and apartment development deals of 100 units and greater, dealing exclusively with large public and private home builders, developers and debt and equity providers. Mr. Saxon has a California Real Estate Broker’s License (DRE#01259110).
After OA, Mr. Saxon spent over 9 years with publically traded homebuilder, Beazer Homes (Sym: BZH). While at Beazer, Mr. Saxon was promoted from Manager of Land Acquisition and Forward Planning to Vice President for Beazer Homes California, where he managed acquisition, disposition, entitlements and forward planning for all of Southern and Northern California. While head of the Land Department of Beazer Homes, Mr. Saxon closed land transactions in excess of $350 Million which comprised more than 5200 residential lots and units. He was also responsible for asset dispositions totaling in excess of $40,000,000 or more than 1500 lots as well as restructuring non-performing assets.
Since departing Beazer Homes, Mr. Saxon has been the principal of Saxon & Company (“SC”), a full service real estate brokerage, development, entitlement, investment and advisory firm specializing in Southern California. SC has transacted, entitled, invested and advised on single and multi-family residential, apartments, mixed use, hotel, industrial and commercial development deals as well as existing properties. Saxon & Company has brokered, invested and advised in over $300 Million of real estate transactions since 2012.
